Vung Ang Economic Zone will become the economic and urban center in the Southern part of Ha Tinh Province
Ha Tinh Province has approved the decision to develop the Vung Ang Economic Zone to become the city and economic center in the southern part of the province.
According to the resolution of the Executive Committee of the Ha Tinh Party Committee, the big goal is to build the Vung Ang Economic Zone into an urban and economic center in the southern part of the province, with the following pillars: metallurgy, energy, processing, and manufacturing industries; logistics center and seaport services; development of trade and service industries.
Simultaneously develop the metallurgical industry, auxiliary industry, supporting industry, processing and manufacturing, and power center related to the Vung Ang –Son Duong port cluster. Ensure overall effectiveness for socio-economic, national defense, security, and environmental protection; promote the transformation of the economy and labor structure toward industrialization and modernization. The town of Ky Anh will be gradually developed into the city center in the South, connecting the Southern area of Ha Tinh with the Northern part of Quang Binh.
The target for the period 2021-2025: Attract new registered investments of $3.5 billion to $5.5 billion. The growth rate of industrial and service output value is 15%-20%/year. The total budgeted revenue for the entire period ranges from VND 55,000 to 6,000 billion. The cargo passing through the port exceeds 40 million tons/year. The total export value of goods reached US$750-8.5 billion. Create jobs for more than 25,000 employees.
The target for the period 2026-2030: To attract newly registered investment capital from $4 billion to $7 billion. The growth rate of industrial and service output value is 15%-20%/year. The total budgeted revenue for the entire period will reach VND 100,000 to 120,000. The cargo passing through the port exceeds 60 million tons/year. Total exports of goods increased from $12 billion to $14 billion. Create jobs for more than 30,000 employees.
